Stella McCartney, daughter of Paul McCartney, is one of the most famous names in fashion and renowned for her sustainable practices. Since founding her label in 2001, she has been advocating for transparency in supply chains, vegan leather, recycled materials, circular fashion initiatives, and regenerative agriculture. Her partnerships with innovators have set a new standard in the luxury industry. Her work is also an inspiration for me and other entrepreneurs in the sustainability area as an example of innovation and what could be coming. We are not as famous as her, but we also connect the dots and other different innovators in the sustainability space to close the loop and create impact.

Making connections, globally
In 2017, we were one of the earliest adopters of recycled polyester solution dye, a waterless dyeing technology on recycled polyester fabrics, with We aRe SpinDye and fashion brand Odd Molly. This particular jacket sold very well because of this unique technology at the time, and we were very excited that we were part of the partner program.

Lowering our carbon footprint is CKG's goal
In January 2021, we were one of the first in the industry to complete a carbon footprint life cycle analysis (LCA) on a down jacket. We did this to understand how the LCA calculation works, which process has the highest carbon footprint, and how we could lower the footprint in the coming years. This gave our organization great insight into the carbon footprint of garment production and paved the way for our organization to be more ready for future circular projects.

High-Volume and Low-Volume orders are easily accessible with CKG
In recent months, CTR has become a key stakeholder in the fashion industry’s circular transformation. Our ability to provide high-volume and high-purity GRS-certified and traceable post-consumer textile waste in fiber or pellet form gives chemical and enzymatic recyclers a scalable, steady, and seamless upstream supply of feedstocks. This allows the chemical and enzymatic recyclers to focus on their technology while we take care of the material sourcing part. Today, we have already become a key partner for leading chemical and enzymatic recyclers as well as global brands.

Artisan quality despite the size of CKG
We may be a small company, but this does not prevent us from having a big impact, and we will continue our high service standard and also continue to innovate. We already have plans to use AI to help our clients in their product development stage to enhance communications and also reduce the need for extra samples, and we are excited to roll out pilots with our clients.

Sustainability is the future
